Better today

Chey seems to be doing better today. Thank god. Dad is back home so maybe things are kinda back to normal. She met with the school counselor yesterday and feels comfortable talking to her, so thats good. So gotta tell ya about this weekend. Remeber me writing about our cheer competition, the believe shirts and winning. Well it didn't go without a protest from one of the cheer coaches. Of course reviewing the score sheets.. we still won. But that wasn't good enough for her. Our football team had a playoff game at their stadium on Saturday, not playing against them but at their stadium. The coach went out of her way to make a BELIEVE sign "breakthrough" size and post it where all could see when they walk in to pay to get it. But the sign didn't just say Believe.. it said.. We BELIEVE, We're #1. Pretty much calling me out and using OUR word... what a poor display of sportsmanship.. I understand that my parents / support team put on their "S" capes went after her and she was eventually forced to take it down before I got there. (go support team!!) I wrote to a paper.. still sitting on if I want to do anything else.. I should just feel sorry for her and move on.. which I will probably do, going with the confidence of what goes around comes around. But if feels good to share and get it off my chest with you guys. ya know. I'm loving this weather... kinda breezy today but so wintery.. I love it. You guys have a great day.. be back to chat tomorrow. :-) Love ya. Deb

Good to see you are still the same ol' Deb I know and love, lol. Hope all is well with Curt and Chey. She will get better I promise, its an adjustment period, The GOOD LORD has always said he will not ever give you more than you can handle, I know for a fact. He is ALWAYS in control and has our best intrest in mind, even tho it seems the times are unbearable and you think you wont be able to handle it. You and your family are in my prayers, and since I heard the news, even more. :)

Keep the Kick Ass Spirit!!!

Luv You All,

I love reading your blog! You are my inspiration to keeping my head up. Reading your blog helps me get through my everyday life situations. But, as far as the coach that put up the sign: Don't let it bother you--let it go-- She does not understand and has most likely never walked in your (our) shoes. Until someone walks in our paths they do not know how to BELIEVE, cause to them it is "make believe". Someday she will walk ino our path and see will understand what the word BELIEVE means, and may turn to you for your support and to help her BELIEVE.

Just so u know....the sign read "Eagles Believe We R #1." And since when do you get to put a trademark on a word? Last time I checked there was such a thing as freedom of speech and we were free to use any common word in the Webster Dictionary! It is also the word of choice of St. Jude's Hospital. Would u like me to send u the Christmas ornament they sent me? After all, Van residents are the only ones allowed to use this word, right? And she was not "forced" to take the sign down, she did it because your "S" capes were making a scene in front of the children. That sign was directed to our Lindale football teams, who by the way, are #1.

I think all of this stuff has gotten blown up. I think in no way has anyone attempted to make light of you or the fact that you have cancer. The joke is how the league president from van GAVE Van 1st had the CD ready to play a dedicated song and picked the judges that admitted to not knowing the league rules. EVERYONE knows that Van did NOT earn 1st...there was another team in red that was far BETTER. If they wanted to do something he should of done it the right way and not have made the girls suffer that earned a championship. When the places were announced even one of your parents made a comment of how they could not believe it...how did that happen??? So please know u r in our prayers and this is not about u or your cancer....it is about what was set up and we believe you were not a part of it and had no idea.
